Performance Blends

From powerful Thoroughbreds that pound the racetrack as they train each day to the weekend competition horse, performance horses are intense and energetic. When these horses compete, they need to compete at the elite level to the beginner level and the plane of nutrition they receive can influence success greatly. It is critical that the nutritional demands are met with a properly formulated and fortified line of feeds that provide optimal nutritional support. Our Performance line ensures the calories they consume provide the fuel they need. These feeds are a mix of quality oils, optimal vitamin and mineral levels and high quality fibers like beet pulp. The combination makes for a palatable, yet nutritionally balanced feed, the perfect fuel for these athletes.

Performance 12®

Formulated with fat and digestible fiber to support the equine athlete.This feed has added beet pulp and a higher fat content for mature horses in heavy training or for horses that need to gain weight.

Performance 12® is intended to be fed to mature horses that are in training or that need to gain weight. Feed at the rate of 0.5 to 1.5 lb per 100 lb of body weight per day, split into at least two feedings.

All Excel Equine® horse feeds should be fed with liberal quantities of good quality hay and/or pasture and free choice salt. Provide clean, fresh water at all times. Store feed in a clean, dry place protected from insects and rodents. Never feed moldy or insect infested feed to horses as it may cause illness, digestive upset or death.

Stability®

Versatile in form and function, this feed comes in both pellets and pasture cubes and is suitable for any life stage.

This pelleted feed is highly versatile and suitable for horses that are at different stages in life. Due to its protein and fiber content, Stability® is ideal for any equine athlete. This feed stores well in bulk and does not freeze in cold weather. It is also available in cube form.

Additional protein, vitamin, or mineral supplements are not needed when fully fortified Stability® is fed as directed. Feed with liberal quantities of good quality hay and/or pasture and free-choice salt.

Yearlings and Two-year Olds – Feed at a rate of 0.75 to 1.50% of body weight per day or to 8–12 lbs/day for most light horses. Adjust feed intake up or down according to body condition and desired growth rate, and forage quality and availability.

Barren and pregnant mares – should consume 8–10 lbs/day when using poor quality forage. Intake of Stability® can be decreased when good quality forage is available. Feed lactating mares 8–12 lbs/day along with liberal quantities of good hay and/or pasture depending on body condition and milk production. Adjust feed intake to maintain desired body condition.

Performance Horses – Feed 0.75-1.50% of body weight per day (8-12 pounds per day for most light horses) depending on work intensity, body condition, and quality of forage available. Adjust feed intake to maintain desirable body condition.

Race First® is intended to be fed to mature horses in training or that need to gain weight. Feed 8 to 14 pounds per head per day with a minimum of 1% of bodyweight of high-quality forage. Fiber First®

As the name implies, fiber content is high in this feed thanks to increased beet pulp content. Its high fat content makes Fiber First® a safe source of calories and energy. This feed is an ideal choice for horses that struggle with tying up and also for horses with COPD because it also allows them to consume less hay.

This textured feed is highly versatile and suitable for horses that are at different stages in life. With protein level at 13% and fat at 8%, Fortify® is ideal for any equine athlete.This textured feed has added fat content and Vitamin E for horses in training or for horses that need to gain weight. Its high amount of protein is suitable for the equine athlete and growing horse.

Feed Fortify® as a grain concentrate to horses at the rate of 0.5 to 1.0 lbs. per 100 lbs. of body weight daily. It is recommended to feed equal amounts at the AM and PM feedings. Provide a minimum of 1% of body weight per day in good quality hay or pasture. Allow horses to adjust to grain feeding before feeding high rates.

Trifiber Compete® is a low-starch highly digestible performance feed that is designed for horses competing in athletic competitions. It is composed of safe, digestible fiber sources like beet pulp and high-quality fat sources like rice bran. Trifiber Compete® works very well for all competing horses or that need a source of safe calories while trying to gain weight. The low starch and NSC content make it an ideal choice for horses that may be prone to any metabolic health condition.
